Basic Offshore Safety & Survival
This course is designed to educate those who venture offshore on how to deal with safety and survival issues at sea.
Getting underway for any reason involves risk. Understanding the risk, knowing how to minimize it, and being ready to respond effectively when the worst happens, are critical to ensuring a safe return home.
The Basic Offshore & Safety (BOSS) Course will cover:
- Operational Risk Management
- Hazard awareness aboard vessels
- Search and rescue practices
- Personal safety and checklists
- Survival equipment
- Shipboard fire basics
- In-water practical including life jackets, immersion suits and life raft boarding
This course consists of a classroom/lecture portion and an in-water/pool portion. Students will learn concepts and theories as well as participate in practical drills while in the water. You and your crew deserve to be as safe out there as possible, regardless of whether the training is "required" or not. Register today to ensure your safety, as well as the safety of others aboard your vessel in the case of an emergency.
